OUR SPEAKERS

Marion Buten is a Managing Director and COO of BXC’s alternatives business in Europe. In this role, she focuses on portfolio and team management, and leverage for European direct lending strategies. In her prior roles within BXC she was involved in the origination, structuring and monitoring of various European direct lending deals and was also a member of the European and US CLO franchise. Before joining Blackstone in 2003, she worked at UBS as an Associate Director within the Leveraged Finance and Corporate Finance teams in Zurich, London and New York. Ms Buten received a Master’s Degree with distinction from the European School of Management, where she completed a three year master’s program in Paris, Oxford and Berlin.

Paul Atefi (London) joined KKR in 2017 and is Head of Origination for Credit & Markets in Europe. Prior to joining KKR, Mr. Atefi was on the acquisition and leveraged finance team at J.P. Morgan, focusing on financial sponsor clients with additional responsibility for financial institutional group corporate clients, having developed that leveraged lending vertical. Prior to J.P. Morgan, Mr. Atefi was at RBS, initially on the leveraged finance team and latterly in the global restructuring group. Mr. Atefi is a qualified chartered accountant, having qualified with PwC on their transaction services team. He graduated with first class honours from the University of Leeds.

Michal joined Astorg in 2016 and is a member of the Investment Team.
Prior to this, Michal spent 5 years with Doughty Hanson in London, where he worked on a number of investments across Europe.
Michal started his career in the Investment Banking team of J.P. Morgan in London.
Michal holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and graduated from the Warsaw School of Economics.
